Schmidt Hammer Lassen & Detroit Masterplan

One of the most interesting and ambitious Danish architecture projects is Schmidt Hammer Lassen’s Detroit master plan. They have won a prestigious project where the city aims to be green and sustainable. Detroit has been in decay for decades. In 1960’s 2 million people lived in the centre. Now it only counts 700.000 people. The city wants to return to the golden days. This time with Nordic architecture and city design. Kristian Ahlmark is heading the project, which combines all the skills we have from green mind-set through open spaces and light to great buildings.
